This article discusses routine immunization against tetanus, diphtheria, polio, measles, mumps, and rubella and tuberculin testing in adolescents who have been fully immunized in childhood and in those with incomplete immunizations. Recommendations are provided for routine and special immunization needs related to travel, employment, leisure activities, substance abuse, sexual activity, pregnancy, parenthood, chronic disease, and immunosuppressed states. Legal, ethical, and public health issues related to immunization of minors are reviewed.
